What’s the liquid covering the shade?

The liquid is a type of lubricant oil. It’s used to brighten the soldering and avoid oxidation. It’s an important step of making Tiffany Lamp from the traditional technique, so please don’t try to wash it out. Sometimes, if the oil is added too much, you can use a dry cloth to wipe it out, but proper amount of oil is needed on the item.
